Harbin
Once a small and quiet fishing village
on the Songhua River, Harbin has grown into the cultural, industrial
and political center of Heilongjiang province.
Harbin (nicknamed "Ice City"), is famous for its spectacular winter
activities. The Ice Lantern Festival usually starts in January 5th
and lasts till February. Fanciful ice sculptures are crafted in
all kinds of shapes. At night the sculptures are illuminated from
inside with colorful lights, turning river-side park into a fantasy-land.
In summary, Harbin is a beautiful and attractive city, with ice-solid
content and more importantly, spring-cool style.
The
Songhua River gives Harbin a touch of lively beauty. The best place
for river fun is the mid-river Sun Island.
Yabuli Skiing Center

Skiing Center, with 15 skiing runs of three different kinds at a
full length of 30 kilometers, 3 skiing cableways and 2,680-meter

Sun
Island
The
38-square-kilometer sand dune on the Songhua River near its northern
bank known as the Sun Island is part of Harbin City. In summer it
is a resort where people come for camping, bathing, sunbathing and
picnic.
