Chengde
Located in the northeast of Hebei
Province, 230 km from Beijing, Chengde is a famous tourist
city in China. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, exuberant
forests and trees with beautiful scenery, it is an ideal place
for holidays and vacations.
In this charming
place, natural scenery and artificial scenes mingle together,
with Mountain Resort and Eight Outer Temples as the center,
like "ripples" spreading to all directions.
The Mountain Resort of Chengde
As one of China's
ten top scenic spots and the world's extant largest imperial
garden where emperors of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) used
to spend their summer vacations and engaged in political activities,
the resort is also known as the temporary palace away from
the capital.
The Eight Outer Temples
The Eight Outer
Temples were built in groups on the eastern and northern slopes
of the Mountain Resort. The glistening gilded tiles and grandiose
construction show a harmonic combination of many architectural
styles.
