Zhangjiajie City occupies an area of 9653 square kilometers, which is 4.5% of total area in Hunan Province. The city includes Rongding district, Wulingyuan district, Sangzhi County and Cili County. With mountain, rock, hill and plateau, the geography is complex. Mountain area covers 76% of total area in Zhangjiajie. The special Quartz Sandstone Peaks is unique in the world. The urban area covers 145.88 square kilometers, which construction area has 17.48 square kilometers.

The GDP of the second industry is 1.648 billion Yuan, which increased by 12.3%. The GDP of the third industry is 4.091 billion Yuan, which increased by 11.5%.
